how do i get a new iPhone 3gs on vodafone network unlocked by apple?

I bought from a friend who got them from an office manager who has updated all the phones to 4s's.

iMac, iOS 5.0.1

Only the carrier to whom the iPhone is locked can arrange unlocking. You will have to conact Vodaphone and ask about their unlock policies and whether that iPhone qualifies.
