I have transitioned to iCloud.com from Mobile Me. I have enabled a search capability for my iPad and now have two iPhones as well as an iPod that I would like to add. I have looked at the page and the box that says my devices does not seem to be able to edited in this fashion. How can I get this done? Thank you.

You need to add your iCloud account to the iPhone in Settings - not install the app.
The app does nothing to make your iPhone trackable.

You need to sign in to iCloud on the devices themselves and turn the Find my iPhone feature on. Then they will appear in the Find my iPhone app and at icloud.com
Looks ike this question has been answered -- you set it on the phone, not the app on your computer.
But I wanted to share something that may be useful to others on this thread:
On the subject of serial #s and finding a lost phone, some cities, including New York City, have a way to register your device serial # with them so they will have some info should they find it. I actually found out at a college where the cops had a table set up for this. Even though the chances of your lost or stolen phone turning up are slim, why not? maybe if you are some kind of paranoid conspiracy nut, I guess. Remember to keep your phone locked with a passcode 🙂

No, it requires the operating system iOS, only available on Apple Devices.
I got into my iPhone and went to iCloud.com. It gave me three choices and the one I chose was to install the "Find My Phone" app. I installed the app and set up iCloud. Find my phone is on on the iPhone. Howver, on my iMac, it still only lists the iPad as a device. Why is the iPhone not there? Thanks.

I had it added originally but accidentally hit the remove iPhone device button on my iPad while searching for my lost phone. Does that mean I erased or turned off the find my iPhone device on my phone?
What if your iPod was stolen but you have the serial number? What do I do then?
Nothing. The serial number is useless for tracking your iPod. All the serial number would be useful for is identifying a found iPod as yours.

I can't add my phone in my iCloud settings on the phone because it defaults to the wrong appleid - and I can't update it
