Hi there my iPad 2 wifi only works if I am in airplane mode. Can someone help. It worked ok till I synced it to put some podcasts on

When you are NOT in airplane mode do you have Bluetooth turned on? If you do and don't need it turn it off. Then leave airplane mode off and try Wi-Fi again.
You may think you are connected to the internet, but maybe not. Click on Safari and see if it connects.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

well airplane mode is ment to disable wifi and all other wireless conections like celluar data. So if wifi does not work when airplane mode is in the off mode, i would try to turn off and then on the device and then sync it to your computer. See if that helps. If not let me know and I will attach a support link
wifi norks when in airplane mode, what ever apple support says, went to an apple store today to the tec department, and told the guy there who said it didnt, so i said do you want a bet on that and he mocked me till we went to an ipad and i showed him,

Actually, once in Airplane mode, Wi-Fi can be turned back on.

Ok my router flashes with wifi and Internet connection in airplane mode but not in normal mode and also in normal mode the location services don't workaday in I can't find my location on the map
ipad worked for a bit but has now just gone back the wifi working when in airplane mode, it shows the wifi symbol all the time but the internet only connects when in airplane mode, any more help?
