Can't download boot camp for Mac Air A1466

Hi, I bought a Macbook air yesterday, which I guess could be the newest version.

After I got home, I'm trying to install windows on this Air. But when I try to download the Windows Support from boot camp Assistant, Its' showing the following message:

"Can't install Windows Support Software because it is not currently available from the Software Update Server."

I contacted phone support, the technican told me that apple update server is down, he don't know what to do.

I tried to use the boot camp in SnowLeopard disk, which gives me"the bootcamp doesn't support current model".

Now I'm lost, I don't know what to do with it. If I couldn't install the Windows on this Air, I wouldn't buy it.

I have other Macbook Air which I believe is 2010 model, works fine with dual boot, Lion and Windows 7.

Anybody has the direct download link for bootcamp that compatiable with my Macbook Air??

Please help me sovle this, I need this new computer for my next trip before Sunday.

Thanks.

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Hello Everyone,

u can direct download on

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/55/51/041-3891/se4uhpqng48t842cdsosqh28 lft54fmswl/BootCampESD.pkg

or if want to search driver for diffrent product, u can download directory list on :

http://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-lion-snowleopard-leopard.m erged-1.sucatalog.gz

and then search for bootcamp, search for newest date, and before download u must open xxxx041-3891.English.dist, to know the match driver.

Same thing is happening to me. I bought mine yesterday and have been hitting the download button since yesterday. I am getting really frustrated that I cannot get this computer on bootcamp. I am also going on a trip in two days and wanted it all setup before that. I don't believe it is a server issue. I think it is just not available for the MBA 2012 yet. If Steve was alive, he would not have released this computer without bootcamp drivers. Also, where is my Lion DVD so I can do it without being connected to the internet. Come on Apple, you can do better.

really annoying issue. i have the same problem and looks like a million others who have posted in the past 2 days is about the same thing lol

yes they've not released the new package yet. BUT if you have the old package say from the 2011 MBA, then you can install drivers from the package manually (just explore a bit and you'll find them) and most things will work. i.e. i did the most basic things like wifi and display (! HD3000 drivers works for 4000) and it's all been fine for now.

obviously this is just a workaround but im sure once the proper package is out, you can just install it on top of your windows installation (with manual drivers) and everything will be as it should be.

quite irresponsible of Apple imo. everyone is stuck on this.

in the keynote, someone mentioned they "closed down apple just so they can run/staff WWDC". makes me imagine that those words literally, meaning we'll have to wait till the event ends before we can hope for anything lol.

i sure as **** hope they're not waiting till Mountain Lion before the new update is out....

I am using the HD4000 drivers from Intel webpage and the WIFI drivers from the Lenovo G470 webpage. They have the correct BCM44XX version. Also installed the Intel INF for the series 6 and that got rid of a few yellow exclamation marks. Still no ethernet via thunderbolt and facetime camera etc, but very usable. The machine is awesome.

maybe i will try to upload the whole image (just downloaded off from apple server) of the BC4 from MBP so that you guys might able to get some devices work properly.

although i have no idea whats the differences between MPB and MPA, i guess over 90% of devices/configurations should be the same...

I just talked to a tech at Apple regarding this issue on my new MacBook Air as well, they told me to reinstall the operating system, Really!!!!!! I have asked for the direct link to the "windows support software" and the tech told me there is no direct link, LMAO.... This is the worst suport I have received from any hardware company!

I have to say Apple computers are cool but support really blows!

just want to update everyone here

around 10 hours ago, Apple responded my email saying the drivers are now live.

i can't verify this becasue im away from my MBA. but i think i saw some people saying they've successfully downloaded the drivers on my way here.
