Q: My son's ipod will not slide to unlock. I have updated to latest software and have restored it a few times but it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Son's 3rd generation ipod not allowing him to slide it open. Updated to newest software. Also reset ipod to original factory settings but still nothing.

Go to any Apple store near you to have it checked by a technician.

If you successfully restored (went through all steps without error) to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store..
