Q: How do I delete "sugar Bytes"-bundle...

_I need to reinstall it, as a friend accidentally deleted a system folder for the effectrix plugin I NEED! I have read the forums and followed ALL the instructions (e.g. library/audio/plugins/components-and equally so for the library/audio units etc.) and I still get an error for reinstalling the bundle that says my computer already has a "newer version" of the file and will not allow a reinstall. As I have the original files that were used to dl the bundle in the first place shouldn't OSX Lion recognize it and prompt a password for full removal? How can I get my plug-ins back???

    You let friends mess around with your system at that level?

    OSX doesn't do removals

    There are other files associated with the install that must be removed manually.

    Probably an install receipt and a preference plist file although there could be a folder tucked away.

    The easiest way to find these is use a simple search program like "EasyFind" and search first under the "Sugar Bytes" name then search under the manufacturers name. Spotlight might work but I prefer EasyFind.

    (I'm not associated with the above, just prefer it for most searches.)

    The plist file will be in Root/Library/Preferences   or   Users/yourname/Library/Preferences

    The receipt will be in Root/Library/Receipts

    I didn"t LET him. We were working on a project together and I had to go to the store so left him to work and he snagged it... very uncool, I know. however what's done is done so I will try your suggestion and hopefully I can reinstall it. I have since turned password on to move ANYTHING so this won't happen again.

    Thanks---> Pancenter <----
