System doesn't respond after opening iTunes

Hi,

My system stops responding after opening iTunes(not always). This has happened twice with me. I had to shut the system down and re-start it again to make it work. Can anybody help me in knowing why this is happening and suggest any solution to this.

Does this happen if you start iTunes in Safe Mode?

This is done by holding down the Option and Command keys (on Mac OS X) or holding down the Shift and Control keys (on Windows) while opening iTunes. If performed correctly, you should see the following dialog before iTunes finishes starting up:

User uploaded file


Does it happen if you remove older iTunes plug-ins?

Mac:

/Users/username/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/

/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/
