Q: About 10 minutes ago, all of a sudden, the keyboard ceased typing. I have changed the batteries (were showing 55%, new ones shoeing 100%) the escape, tab and other non-letter keys work. Only the letters do not show.
About 10 minutes ago, my Apple wireless keyboard ceased typing. I turned it off, then on. The batteries were showing a level of 55%. I changed the batteries to newly charged, 100%. I have checked the preferences for the keyboard. The Tab key, Escape Key work. It appears that only the letter keys do not work. For instance, if I open a new document, I can tab to header, footer, in the document. If I use Command arrow, the cursor moves. If I type words, no letters show up.
I had been using the keyboard in a crossword puzzle app. Suddenly, the keyboard ceased to function, other than as mentioned. I could tab to other words, mouse click on a letter, Typing just ceased to function.
