ok so, itunes refuses to open. i went to the support page and did EVERYTHING it says to do. update drivers, disable virus protection, add a new user, try safe mode, etc etc. STILL WILL NOT OPEN. uninstalled everything, reinstalled everything about 5 times... nothing. can someone please help me fix this?

As soon as I disconnect from the internet and load iTunes....it works! I know this is no fix but I tried everything the forums have suggested so now I KNOW it's trying to access the 'Store' first! Now I need to find out why the 'Store' access is making iTunes unlaunchable... Any ideas please let me know -.-
The thing that I tried from the below thread was to create a new iTunes Library. So far it works. I did need to link my music again but a small thing to sync my iPhone. If iTunes fails to open again I will let you know.
Thanks much it did the trick for me. Question is why access Store first?
An update to my earlier comment. This has worked for me with no other problems. iTunes opens up every time now.
I don't understand it either. But after hours of reading and trying different "solutions", this is what worked!! Disconnected from internet, opened iTunes, (it stayed open for the first time without an error message), and now it works everytime. Save yourself a lot of stress and TRY THIS FIRST!!!!
i gave up. I don't even use that computer anymore as i bought a new computer for myself last christmas. I have windows 7 64 bit on ths one as well but not a problem in the world. everything works fine. as soon as i find out how to delete this thread, i am going to.
just because this worked for you, doesnt mean it works for everybody, considering that almost everything on here that was said did not work on that computer.

i am trying almost every new release of iTunes in my Windows 7 64 Bit. I follow the exact uninstall information as provided in Apple Website. Still my iTunes not working...

If you haven't tried it, try diconnecting from internet, then launching iTunes. I did that and now it works reliably, whether I'm connected or not.
I Had this problem and found the answer so I feel that I should share. Here is the fix...
download as do latest itunes from itunes.com
go to start and type in command prompt (but run as administrator)
in command prompt, type in sfc/ scannow
let it scan and it will tell you what files it fixed that were corrupt.
open itunes

I'm having this exact problem, but i don't have QuickTime. nothing is working apart from, iCloud.
I was wondering if now there was a way to fix this?

This has started happening me today too after running updates to Apple products.
I ran into same problem. I do not have QuickTime. Just the iTunes. Today When I updated to 12.3, It stopped working. Tried everything mentioned in this forum. Nothing worked for me
