iPod Touch screen won't respond, even after attempting to restart it.

While I was editing my artwork for my iPod Touch, iTunes froze on me and my iPod Touch went black and would not respond. I ended iTunes process with Task Manager and I unhooked my iPod Touch from my computer. The screen on the iPod is still black and will not respond at my attempt at restarting it. I even tried plugging it into a different computer and tried just charging it from the outlet on my wall (even though my iPod was not even close to dying) but nothing has worked and it still stays black...I need help! I don't know what to do and I'm sad that nothing has worked...

It didn't work >.< I couldn't even do step two because since the display is still black, I can't tell if I it's on/off. Holding down any combination of buttons won't do anything to the iPod...it still is just this black screen. But even know I couldn't tell if it was on/off I still tried the rest of the steps...but nothing worked. Guess I'm going to an Apple store but who knows when that'll be since the nearest one is like an hour away 😠
