I have taken over the management of some Mac Servers where the user and group rights are in a bit of a mess. I wonder what is the best way of getting an overview of the rights. I could use a ls -lR command, but that yields information rather hard to relate to. I would like some kind of graphical tool, a tree-structure or something. Any ideas?

The server admin tool lets you do this.

    Open up Server admin.

    Select the server in question.

    Select the AFP service.

Click the file sharing button at the top of the server admin window.

Select the file in question in the window below.  You should see the permissions listing there.
