FireWire 400 on a 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon?

Hello,

I have just switched to a 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Mac Pro and I have a Minolta slide scanner that is connected to the Mac by FireWire 400. Now this Mac no longer has a FireWire 400 connection, only FW 800. Is there a way to still use the scanner, some adapter maybe?

Thanks for any hints!

For most uses, the adapter-cable is definitely to way to go.

For a device such as the Apple displays with a captive FireWire 400 cable, the smaller adapter sold by sonnet and others is more handy to place and forget. This little adapter gets lost really easily, so it is not for casual plugging and unplugging -- the next time you need it , it will be gone.
