gmail keeps telling me wrong password

Don't know why you're having trouble getting gmail over 3G, but if you are frequently getting password not correct prompts try unlocking your account here: https://accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha.

Just to double-check, but does your username and password work on the gmail.com website? If it does then try deleting the email and then adding it again.

And I do know that there is a difference between connecting to gmail via wifi and 3G.

What exactly do you mean by "account won't work."

If you setup Gmail correctly using the Gmail default settings. then you might want to check the password on gmail.com

I have logged into Gmail from different places a few times (one being work that routes internet through their servers in the US and I live in the UK) every now and then Gmail reports it has noticed that I am logging in from a different location and asks me to verify that it is indeed me logging in. As the iPhone doesn't use a web interface in the mail app that can handle that message it could be that Gmail is just not allowing the log in

Ok, I've had thie issue with various email address on and off for aout a year now. I finally found a soulution:

Login to the Google account giving you problems;

Go to: https://accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha

Hit "Continue".

Go to Apple Mail and hit "Get Mail" for that account.

Repeat for each account continually asking for password.

Try deleting the account from your device then re-adding it
