New Drive Western Digital Scorpio & AV-25 500Gb Noisy!!! Normal?

Hi, my Macbook Fujitsu HD went almost dead...2 bad blocks. Only problems...

I replaced it with a WD Scorpio 500Gb, but it came in a case because it was a portable disk.

The thing is, it's very noisy and makes a sound like it's "starting and stoping" all the time.

No problems so far. Is this normal?
