emoji keyborad not on list
I have an iPhone4, OS 5.1.1 and the emoji keyboard is not on the list to select
iPhone 4, iOS 5
Go to "settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards > Emoji If it is not there, make sure you downloaded the app.

Did not have to download any app on my other ios 5.1.1 phone....it was just there in the list. Which app r u talking about?
Apple never included the emoji keyboard until the upcoming iOS 6. You always needed to download one of the free or paid emoji apps available in the App Store to actually activate the emoji keyboard on your phone.
You would download the app, run it, go to the keyboards just as xfarmer describes and select the emoji keyboard along with your native keyboard.
There are a few different ones available to download and install. I suggest you just go to the app store and search emoji and then make a decision as to whichone best suits your needs. Like Thom_D says, some are free others are 99 cents.
That's not true. In iOS5 it became a native keyboard. Settings > General > Keyboards > International > Add Keyboard....and then the list appears with all the different languages, and EMOJI is one of them. I have two other iPhones and they BOTH have it. No app download required. But this new iPhone 4, updated out of the box today does have it in the list.....
Perhaps that was available in iOS 5.0 and I never knew because I had to do the App Activation in iOS 3.X and later and just always did it that way.
Apple may have taken it out of iOS 5.1.1.
Either way, if you don't have it now you can still reactivate it (Apple seems to have hiddne it for some reason) using one of the apps in the app store.
Nope, wrong again. I have phones with iOS 5.1.1....and its there. I'm thingking this one has a software issue preventing the keyboard from appearing.
Hoping omeone ot here is having the same issue....
