Call the store from which you purchased and ask.

For iPhone you have 30 days to return it for all other products you only have 14, that is why you have until the 2nd. Also because the issues you are having are manufacture defects you will be covered under apple care warranty. I also suggest getting the applecare+ it is a 100 bucks but you get 2 incidences of accidental damage. So if you drop it, wash it, or bust it you pay $49 dollars and get a brand new phone. For something as expensive as an iPhone I would absolutely spend the extra cash to protect your investment. Either way you are good to return your phone so go ahead but like they said make an appointment before heading to the Apple store. Good Luck with your new phone!!
