Help. iPad2 Frozen. Won't Power On of Off

I've read all the related articles and tried restarting it by opening iTunes (and updated iTunes in the process). I got the error: 0xE8000065. I had opened a VERY large e-mail whereby the sender included several photos embedded in the text. That's when it froze.Obviously, the content was too large for the iPad to handle. But now what? My iPad is only 3 months old. I know this question has been posted, but none of the answers seem to apply. Please, somebody help.
