Aug 22, 2012 4:39 AM in response to Tuckerman Moss1by peterfromdunblane,Just checked the ipad carrier version number and it's 12.1. I note that my iPhone is 12.0 and does not have the same issue.
I think I will just cancel the iPad O2 sim card contract and just use the personal hotspot on the iPhone. The iPhone is usually with me. Should save a bit of money too.

Aug 26, 2012 6:32 AM in response to nmarshall002by marcode,One of my tests involved replacing the sim card with another one and that seems to have sorted out the problem. As soon as I out the original sim card, I started getting the carrier update settings again.

Aug 26, 2012 7:23 AM in response to marcodeby Tuckerman Moss1,Hi marcode,
I sort of thought that would probably work. At a guess, the reason it works is because the new O2 sim that you put in had already been upgraded to 12.1. It would help if you would have a look under Settings-->About--->General-->Carrier and let us all know if your new sim shows 'O2 12.1'.
Thanks.

Aug 27, 2012 12:52 AM in response to nwlaurieby Paddyish,If You've cancelled you should get a confirmation email. That is what happened when I cancelled mine. I'm trying a Vodafone sim next week, when my subscription ends.

Aug 27, 2012 10:33 AM in response to Paddyishby RedPam,Glad I found this discussion. This has been happening on my iPad for a few weeks, thought I was not doing something correctly.
Not a real problem but VERY annoying, especially when syncing through iTunes on iMac. Not a problem on my iPhone 4S. I am also on O2 (pay daily/monthly) and am at 12.1.
Thanks for all the info on this thread.

My other O2 sim is from giffgaff. The carrier details are: O2 12.0. This sim doesn't give me any problems.

Aug 30, 2012 9:55 AM in response to KathyGalby Paddyish,OK, So I got another o2 sim and a Vodafone sim to try when my months data plan ran out. The new o2 sim does exactly the same. However the Vodafone UK one seems to be ok. So i am going to sign up with them and hope that is an end to this annoying nag.
Hope this helps you out guys. Good luck. I'll post back if things change

Aug 30, 2012 10:11 AM in response to Paddyishby MikeRevitt,Problem solved; I have cancelled my O2 subscription and gone with Three, and it is a cheaper option aswell.
I guess if people vote with their feet O2 may take notice.

Sep 2, 2012 11:33 AM in response to MikeRevittby Jozie,I too have this problem and am relieved to see so many others also have it.
However, at the moment I have a bigger problem of a machine which freezes several times a day since upgrading to ML. So I'm going to sort that problem first... I was wondering if they were related, but as you guys don't appear to also have freezing machines, it seems not...
