Re: iTunes keeps asking if I want to update my carrier settings, even tho have most current version
on 16-11-2012 12:05
Hi guys,
As we said in our last post, we’ve been working closely with Apple to fix the issue. We’re pleased to say that a fix is being implemented in the first week of December.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. The fix will be rolled out soon.
Looks like fix soon

That's terrific - or at least it will be when/if it happens. But where did this message from Paul come from? Perhaps the O2 User Forum (where it seems you can't join if you don't have an O2 phone as well as an O2 ipad - which i don't)? And who is it that finally managed to get O2’s attention? When the time comes, who do we thank?

Nov 17, 2012 4:08 AM in response to maggie060by sonnydaez,This has been a known problem with O2 for several months.. the statement 'we've been working closely with Apple to fix the issue' is an insult to the intelligence.
Anyone who hasn't already moved away from O2 should seriously consider doing so!

Nov 17, 2012 4:51 AM in response to sonnydaezby Yaaweehoo,Why do people keep flaming O2, this issue is nothing more than an inconvenience.
Your carrier software does update correctly there's just an issue with the software registering the new version on iTunes, hence the persistent "Update your carrier settings" message.
It's annoying yes but at the end of the day the devices still work along with your data service. Personally I think iTunes 11 will fix this issue.

Jan 21, 2013 5:03 AM in response to Paul Findonby Yaaweehoo,Knew that the iTunes 11 update would fix it.
Updated as soon as it came out and the problem was gone. Still something that could of been done sooner unless its got something to do with the redesigned code.

Jan 21, 2013 5:28 AM in response to Yaaweehooby Paul Findon,You could be right Yaaweehoo, but I upgraded to iTunes 11 then went back to 10.7 within an hour due to the fact that the Column Browser can no longer be on the left - a feature I really like. I used App Zapper to totally elimite iTunes 11 before reinstalling 10.7.
I guess we'll never know for sure.
Anyway, time to move on I guess.

Jan 21, 2013 5:44 AM in response to Paul Findonby Yaaweehoo,Enable the column browser in view settings
Most previous features where retained just disabled.
Gotta fiddle around with the program before throwing it away

Jan 21, 2013 5:47 AM in response to KathyGalby Yaaweehoo,Update your iTunes to the latest version.
This fixes the carrier update issue and other small bugs
If you don't like the new layout you can change the settings under the "view" drop down

Done that! Problem with iTunes 11 is that the browser can appear only at the top. The option to show it on the left has gone. There's another thread around here lamenting it's loss.
