After reformating My iMac core 2 Duo 27inches 3.06Ghz , The computer restarted and hang on to the "Apple" Logo and never seems to stop , has on been on for 2 hours.
Try restarting and it's still the same hanging to the Apple Logo.

To force eject a cd hold the mouse button during startup. Sounds like you need to reinstall the OS. Hold the "C" key on startup and it should boot from the install DVD. Repair your harddrive using disk utility and reinstall the OS.
Thank you. This was very helpful. My disc had ejected but wouldn't allow another disc to be inserted. I was able to use the Terminal x (Launch the Terminal and type following command:
drutil eject)which made the eject function run and it will now allow me to put in a new disc.
