Q: Some apps changed from YES to NO support Snow Leopard?

Hello, I see that some apps have changed and now don't support SL, in example the new iPhoto or iMovie.

My question is, having installed Snow Leopard in my computer, what happens?:

1) I had purchased an app that now is not compatible with SL, and I want to reinstall it.

2) I know that app had previously supported SL, if I purchase it, will be the last compatible version downloaded or it will not work?.

That is very confusing and Apple says nothing about it.

    seventy one,

I finally clicked on the little X and iPhoto disappeared. When I signed into my Account it didn't actually say anything there about hidden Apps, but when I went back to Updates, iPhoto was now gone and it said at the bottom of that pane: "Show incompatible App Updates". When I clicked on that, it then showed me iPhoto. And the number on the App icon on the dock also changed to reflect that I have one less update, which is what I was hoping for.  Even before I did all this, I noticed that now when I first viewed my Updates list, it listed iPhoto as being only compatible with 10.7; this info. had not been there before. So even though I got to it in a slightly different way from what you said, my little problem is solved. Thank you!

Glad to read your problem is resolved.   The phrase "Show incompatible App updates" is a new element of your Apple account details.    It certainly wasn't there (here in the UK) when I wrote to you but as the need to maintain detail in iTunes and the App store is more direct, I suspect the option has been surrepticiously inserted.

Not in itself a drama, I suppose.

Well as final thought, apart from updates and backups, it can be a first time compatibility problem.

Let us think about an Core Duo user that used the Mac (with SL) for many things but never had the need for movie cut, but for any reason now wants to use the Mac for it, goes to App Store to get iMovie, it is not compatible! but it was recently.

This user is happy with the system, tell this user to buy a new Mac only for iMovie.

Sorry but I see no reason to hide older compatible versions with SL.
