(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the User uploaded file thingy on the Major Geeks page):

http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)

(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.

(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Safari entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another Safari install using a SafariSetup.exe downloaded from the Apple Website:

Does it go through properly this time?

THANKS!!! That did it. Can I ask you something not related to this?

Can you recommend a good registry fixer/repair? I used Win reg. repair and thought it backed up before it changed things but it didn't. My machine would barely do anything, so I restored a back up from the Reg Repair software that I normally use. That helped some, but my system is still VERY slow, almost like it wants to crash. Have any advice? Or a program to recommend?

Thanks again!

🙂 You're welcome!

Perhaps rather than a registry scan, let's try a malware scan.

Download and install the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:

Update your MBAM definitions and then run a full scan of the PC. (Takes about 2 hours on my Lenovo.)

Does the scan find any infections?

Thanks for the help, buddy! I can use all I can get 🙂

I will give that forum a shot.

I am always looking for software to help keep me away from the computer 'doctor', whose first response to anything, and everything, is "I'll have to run a diagnostic test to find out. That'll be $89."

Thanks again!!
