Good looking (and inexpensive) monitor to go along with my Mac mini ?

Hey I recently purchased a Mac mini and had a pretty low end ASUS 1080p monitor. Crapped out on me and now I need to replace it. I did however get a new place and the Mac mini set up looks great with the wireless mouse and keyboard, so I would love to find a similar display. However, my budget is fairly low, and the Apple Cinema Display is way out of my league. I did some research but found nothing interesting. Lastly, I would prefer for the display to be glossy.

Thank's for you input...

Aside from some Dell models which hace been the subject of several threads, most anything will work. The key characteristics you will want to pick are "viedo editing frame refresh" or "full-color spectrum display". That you can do online through Google, in store as you look at it, or by posting with your specific (if you have any) video editing needs.

As i stated, choosing 3 because they looked good in the store worked out well for me. And Best Buy has a liberal return policy.

I finally bought one of these. For a long time, these Dell Ultrasharp monitors were pretty expensive. I had wanted one of these when the 20" ones were their flagship model. Now you can get a 24" Ultrasharp for a mere $300!! My previous monitor was a 20" (1650x1050) widescreen by Samsung. This U2412M is so much bigger! I love the 1920x1200dpi resolution! There are very few monitors on the market that has this added vertical resolution; most of them are 1920x1080 (what they call "Full 1080"). Those monitors are good for gaming and watching movies, but with the short vertical space, it's horrible for doing anything productive.

I "went" BIG with 27" monitor - Acer (on sale for $200 range)although 1920x1080.

I would hold off (seemed you need to replace the monitor ASAP) - because if MacMini (depends on the generation) gets a firmware update - 4K displays sound pretty HOT to me.

Currently, 1920x1080 is the main stream but 2560x1440 can be expensive and can be support by MacMini thunderbolt port.

DVI/HDMI only can go to 1920x1200.
