Q: why won't my panasonic hdtv recognize the mac when hooked up via hdmi cable?

i recently purchased an RF-AP305 Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (rocketfish) and the matching rocketfish HDMI cable. however, when i plug the cords into my panasonic TC-L32C3 the tv won't let me select either HDMI 1 or 2 as an input source. why won't the tv recognize my mac?

Look in System Preferences > Display. If the arrangement tab isn't there then it doesn't recognize that the TV is attached. Most likely a cable/adapter problem.

I have two tvs.
RVC tv works fine with RF-AP305 and HDMI cable

But other tv (SHARP) does not work. No signal at all. I tried to see any picture for a second. I double checked What's that mean?
