Yep same problems as everyone else. It's starting to be a pain in the ***. Anyone ever figure out a fix yet? Oh and FYI Ios 6 beta 2 (the latest one as of now) dosent work at all. Even the airplane mode "hack" dosent work. I'll wait till the official ios 6 gets released then I'm switching phones.
I have not experienced any problems at all. I'll assume you are referring to the AT&T Microcell? Have you tried resetting the Microcell. If it is the AT&T one, have you signed into your AT&T account and verify the phone number is added to the list of authorized devices? I have my 4S, three iPhone 4, and my son's girlfriend's Samsung will all connect to the Microcell without any issues.
Yeah bro I tried everything. I replaced the microcell five times replaced SIM cards, registered/unregistered , auto handout off, you name it I've tried it. What iOS are you on? When I update to 5.0.1 is when all the problems started. I don't get how some people are having no problems and others are. I get one bar if that in the house on both the 4/4s. We both now have ios 5.1.1. iPhone's wont connect automatically. Airplane mode makes them connect for about 15 mins the go back the the one bar/searching. Called att 1000x's said its a known issue and apple is working on it. It's now a year later. Prior to the update both my phones worked great. What IOS are you on? There's gotta be a glitch that's making it work for some/bypassing all the problems. When you do a complete restore are you doing it from iCloud or iTunes?
And what baseband for the 4/4s are you on that it's working?
A stock 4S on iOS 5.1.1, modem firmware 2.0.12 with AT&T 12.0. We also have 3 iPhone 4s here in the family, one is on 5.1.1 and the others are on 5.0. I have seen were many have issues, and I have (knock on wood) had a single issue with this one and we have had it for a while now.
Yeah I wouldn't upgrade the others if they're working just fine. Mine was working great on 5.0 the 5.0.1 messed everything up. Once you upgraded the 4s to 5.1.1 did you 1) set up as a new phone 2) restore from iCloud 3)restore from iTunes. I can't figure out how some work and some don't work with 5.0.1 and later. I'm taking suggestions
I dunno how you guys get it to work when I have tried just about everything under the sun. I'm starting to think apple pays you guys to say this
When I got my 4S I just restored from a backup on my computer. Been running just fine. Each one of the updates to iOS have worked as well, and I use a Windows PC. Don't work for Apple, don't see any money from them. I teach college. The only reason the other two phones have not been upgraded is I cannot get them out of the kids hands long enough to do it! I know I have read about others having problems, but given the number of Microcells out there, there are more NOT having problems than are. Sounds like you are doing everything you are supposed to as far as the Microcell is concerned. I don't understand why it won't work.
Hey just to verify are you in a edge or 3G area. Before we had 3G in the areA it worked great. After getting 3G in the area all our problems started.
I'm in a 3G area. Actually it is one of the plus areas, so I get the 4G reading on my phone.
