Is you sound volume set up?

    Try rebooting.

I have re-booted but still no sound. This just happened and I don't understand why the sound just went!?

Try a better video player, i.e., vlc.

Also, why did you flag my first post as correct if it wasn't?

I have looked at this thread and do not understand why this has come up as being solved - very strange!

Thanks for the suggestion but still no sound - wondering if the update has something to do with it?

I guess I should have asked, is this with your specific videos or all videos?

Put one of the files into vlc.  Select Media Information from vlc's Window menu.  When that window comes up select the Codec Details.  Look at the audio/video stream info and see if you see anything "funny" with the audio track (click the disclosure triangles on the right to see the info).

And you must have clicked the big soved button by accident.
