Transformation Graph (MIDI Velocity Curve)

In Mainstage (or Ivory) you can change the midi velocity in-out curve via a graph - just grab the line and make a custom curve. I can't find this "input graph" in Interface Builder. Do I have to hand-code this, or is it available somewhere I haven't looked (I'm fairly new to the Xcode way of doing things) ?

There is no out-of-the-box Cocoa control that shows graphs. You will need to code it yourself or find a 3rd-party control. Probably lots of 3rd-party graphing controls for OS X, fewer for iOS. Core-plot is one example that supports both OS X and iOS. I have no idea whether this offers the level of interactivity you need to "grab the line and make a custom curve."

I hope you have solved this problem already. If not (and for further people having that problem, I has having it too) I found this on the internet:

Here’s how to customize velocity graphs in Apple MainStage.

  1. Click on the channel strip you want to customize.
  2. Click on “MIDI Input” then “Velocity Input” under “Velocity Scaling”. This effects the full range of the keyboard. If you want to customize a smaller section of the keyboard, use “Note Input” velocity scaling instead.
  3. Edit the velocity graph by double clicking on the graph and setting your X and Y points, or by customizing one of the preset curves.
