FaceTime recognition of appleID

After I login to FaceTime using the correct appleIDWhen and password and press enter, FaceTime reverts me back to the login screen with the error message that the appleIDWhen and password has changed and won't let me go any further.

I have changed the password to try and correct this but it does reverts back to the login screen and won't recognise the appleIDWhen and password.
