In reading other posts, it looks like many were experiencing errors with the update. Maybe the update was taken offline? Not sure. But when updating my Apple TV this morning it gave me an error message during the update as well.

Hard not to be frustrated, 3 hours until a Fathers Day BBQ and I find myself longing for my old CD Case and 5 Disc player! Or maybe I'll set up my Western Digital TV and play via Spotify.

I had the same problem and after months of frustration decided to uninstall and re install. WRONG - now I can not install and now have a version on my Vista but it wont open and gives this error message.

"The procedure entry point kCMByteStreamNotification_AvailableLengthChanges could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreMedia.dll

After clicking OK on this, the 'Itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall Itunes. Error 7 (Windows error 127)' message appeared."

Repair and reinstalling does not hel[

My fear in installing that way is that it will delete all of my settings, library, etc from my current set up, reauthorize the computer, etc. The last time I did a set up straight from the website, it uninstalled everything, then I had to request a deauthorization of the computer from Apple so that I could reauthorize the new software install. Not to mention then reimporting playlists, etc. I'm on a shared computer with my husband so I try to keep my library set up with just the songs I want.

Do you know whether it will save all of my settings?

Under normal circumstances, that shouldn't happen when updating using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) from the website. That being said, it's still always a good idea to maintain a backup in case of disasters.

I am having the same problem updating to iTunes 10.6.3 on Windows 7 running on HP Touchsmart 520 PC after I check for updates in iTunes under its help. I tried the suggestions about repairing Apple Software Update program but got the same results. So I ran the the Apple Software Update program by starting it myself. The result was the program's standard pop-up display saying "New software is available from Apple. Select the items that you want, then click install." but no software is listed for you to select.

The last successful iTunes update done on Windows 7 running on this PC was iTunes 10.6.1.7 on 4/9/2012.
