By sync I assume you want to see the photo in iPhoto on your Mac. If this is not the ase ignore the following.
To transfer photos in the Camera Roll to your iPhoto on your Mac start iPhoto on the Mac and connect your iPad. You should be given a prompt to import the photos from the Camera Roll on your iPad to iPhoto on your Mac. Once imported you can copy them to an album or create a new album for them.

Hi Ralph, My issue is not so much the syncing part. I am using an Iphone 4S any connecting to windows iTunes. Here's the problem. Normally when I take a photo with Iphone camera, the photos will automatically be accessible when I view it in photo app on the Iphone. However, all the photos taken on the Iphone are not able to be accessed at Photo app. But, when I activate the Camera app on my Iphone, the photos are still there in the camera folder called CAMERA ROLL. In Photo app, there is a folder called Camera Roll but none of the photos appears there. So, I assume in this case the camera roll folder in Camera app and photo app on my Iphone are not sync.
Thanks if someone can figure this out. BTW, this happened only after I upgraded to the Iphone OS to accomodate Icloud.

Hmmm! That is a mystery. You might try quitting both the Camera App and the Photo App.
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button to reveal the row of recently used apps. Tap and hold on the Camera app until the apps wiggle and show a Red Minus sign. Tap the Minus sign for the Camera App and the Photo App. Tap on the screen anywhere above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the Photo app and see if the missing photos appear.

I have been having the same issue! I take pics, and I can see the from within the camera app, but they are not in the photo app camera roll. I cannot post or text pics because when I open, say Facebook, and try to upload a pic, there are not any pics in the camera roll; but the pics are in the camera app by tapping the window at the bottom left of the camera app. Please help!!

I hace a macbook pro and I had the same problem that my photos on the iphone didn't show up in iphoto to sync, but then I reinitiated the macbook and then the problem was fixed! Easy fix, hopefully for you too.

By reinitiate, do you mean restart? I've tried restarting, restoring, and hard restarting and all have not worked. I still continue to have this issue and I'm almost ready to get rid of my phone because of it.
