How do i send texts through an iPad 2 using a phone number. Currently, they are recieved at an email address. Is there a way to send them through a phone number rather than an email? The iPad is WiFi only no 3G or anything.

You can't use a phone number. You have to use your email address. The iPad is not a phone so the email address that you choose as to where you can be reached will have to suffice for sending and receiving texts.
If you don't want others to know your email address for whatever reason, create a new email account and use that one for texting only.
