Q: How do you find out the iTunes version installed in ipad2?

I need to synch my iPad with MacBook air. The message in MacBook is that I should have iTunes 10.5 or later version. I can't find the iTunes version from the settings menu. It only gives the iOS software version. Nor am I able to download any iTunes software thru Safari.

iPad 2, iOS 5.1

The message refers to needing iTunes 10.5+ on your computer not on the iPad - the built-in apps on the iPad can only be updated via iOS updates. (Apart from iOS updates, the only way to install apps is via the iTunes app store on your computer's iTunes and syncing or directly on the iPad via the App Store app - you can't download programs via Safari.)

On your Mac's iTunes do 'iTunes > Check For Updates' and update it to the latest version.

That message means for iTunes on the Mac - not on the iPad. Update iTunes on your Mac. There is only one version of itunes on the iPad and that is dependent on the iOS version that you are running.
