New Macbook pro keeps freezing and acting up?

I just got my nre 13in macbook pro last thursday (June14) and since then it was froze thrice. One was when I was downloading a game demo, and two more times when I was trying to watch a movie online. The whole system just froze each time, and I had to force shut down by holding down the power button then powering it back up. Then most recently, when I was on a skype call, the whole screen just blacked out, and my call was dropped etc, and it turned back on by itself after 10-20 seconds. I'm new to this whole mac thing, is there anything I should do? Or well, what should I do?

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

If you're trying to do a lot with Safari, open a lot of apps, or play games w/ heavy graphics, then it can freeze up. For me, if I have Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr up then it gets really slow/freezes. How much do you have downloaded to you Mac?

How much RAM do you have? Are you running off battery or by MagSafe...?

What is forgotten is that OSX is based on UNIX server, well all UNIX can act as a server but if it has a lot of App open it will like Windows use the disk space for virtual memory and this too can topple OSX. If you have a slow internal drive that will most certainly make for these problems.

I'd make sure that all but a few Apps are running. I'd also reboot your WiFi router, unplug it from the wall and the cable or ADSL modem and disconnect the modems from the connection too. Then after tne minutes reconnect them all. Also if it's cable call the company and have them remote reboot your modem too.

Aside from that you might have a rare MB problem, try zapping the PRAM.....

Failing that if you have just bought it take it ASAP to the Genius bar and get some help. Apple customer care is what makes Apple the best company to buy from. I'm not too fond of the design leading function but Apple care is wonderful and you should go to your local store. Do this while your computer can still be returned: it means they will exchange you computer if there is a hardware problem rather than make you wait for a repair....go now!:)

And you are not alone despite anyone telling you this never happens to Apple products. I've had this problem more than once and Apple took care of it.

Try rebooting and just running one App before you take it into the apple store. Good luck!

Hey, I bought my 13" MBP 5 days ago, and since I have it many freezes occured regulary. I only have Skype, Chrome and Diablo 3. Once it froze during a Skype call, in many other cases it froze while just using Google Chrome, while exiting Diablo 3 it always freezes and sometimes while it loads, I don't even play because I never know when it will freeze. When it freezes I have to turn it off from the power button. I read in other posts that many people are having this same issue, they say it might be related to Google Chrome, I believe it's a software related issue and I hope they release an update fixing this.

I actually didn't try it. It sounded too technical for me to understand... I'm not too bright as you can see. Uhm, But i did try to lay low on the amount of apps running at the same time. & Like the others said, I'm pretty sure it's more of a software issue since my friends with older macbook pros doesnt seem to have this issue. But if it does freeze up on me again, I'll try resetting the PRAM.

This is an issue with Flash in Google Chrome. It may also occur with flash 11.3 in other applications. Going back to Flash 10 seems to lessen the occurance of the problem, but Chrome uses its own install of Flash.
You can try downloading Google Chrome Canary or rollback to a previous version of Flash and OS X. The combination of Mountain Lion, Flash 11.3, and Google Chrome seem to be the death note when watching youtube videos

To clarify the problem, it seems that video output stalls and become completely unresponsive with flickering at times or green overlays. The mouse cursor seems to be unaffected usually and sound keeps playing. It does seem that some commands are still recognized for a brief period at the onset of the problem, but soon the system quickly decays into unresponsiveness. Even at this level though the mouse cursor movement is unhindered, but clicks are not recognized. Eventually, an all out kernel panic may occur, but the display output may not be able to render the error message for it.

Anybody else still having this problem? I have a 2012 MBP 13'' with Mountain Lion installed, and anytime I watch a video through flash, it freezes my whole computer after about 30 seconds. Youtube works fine and quicktime works fine, but anything I stream that uses flash freezes my whole computer and I need to restart it manually using the power button.

I just tried downgrading to flash 10 and the problem still occurs. I'm currently using Firefox but it also happened with Safari. Is this happening to anyone else?
