Q: MacBook Pro won't turn on

I recently updated my MacBook Pro (15.4 purchased in June 2008) and now it won't turn on. The light on the bottom is on but no start up sound is made or any screen activity.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Did you apply the Thunderbolt software update 1.2? Are you getting the kernel panic screen when you boot up?

I'm not sure what the update was. I just installed it two days ago. I'm not getting any screen or keyboard activity at start up. Just the initial start up noise and then nothing. I had a DVD in the disk drive and I finally got that out by holding down Command+option+PRDC. I've tried holding the track pad button at start up, holding down the shift key, and starting up without the battery. Still no luck.
