Retina MBP - visual glitches after returning from sleep

I haven't seen an update since and the update mentioned and screenshotted is the one from the 11th which doesn't address the issue. If someone can link the actual update we're discussing here I'd love to download it and install but I haven't yet seen it via Software Update.

The thing is I don't recall ever seeing this showing up in Software Update. I got the MBP w/Retina with the first wave of deliveries. Is there any way I can tell if I already have these installed? I guess I could just download them and try to install them.

Thanks for those links @Scyanide, however that first one is for OS X 10.7.3, whereas I am already on OS X 10.7.4.

I am therefore pretty sure my machine has all the updates available to it, and still has this issue.

Admittly I'm a bit confused on that requirement cause doesn't the MBP w/Retina ship with 10.7.4?

Which is the download for the Client upgrade to 10.7.4. This says it was released May 9th. The software update 1.0 for MBPwRetina was released June 11th. So I can only assume this is after 10.7.4. I'm not sure why they have 10.7.3 on the software update 1.0 requirements. Unless it is just a typo.

Am I missing something? Very possible.

The 'real' Lion upgrade is now out and available through software update:

The release notes do not mention the display glitches problem. In fact, they are incredibly short:

This update fixes an issue that can lead to increased CPU power consumption, and it improves compatibility with some USB devices.

This update is recommended for all Mac notebooks introduced since June 2012.

I just downloaded and installed it - About this Mac now shows version Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E2620).

So far no display issues. My rMBP works just fine after waking from display sleep.

I'm sorry to report that I got the glitch again - AFTER the Jul. 18th software update.

It seems to be happening less often now, but it's still happening.

Work around is to toggle to 'Best (retina)' and then back to 'More Space' when the problem occurs.

Just got my MBP Retina this week and I think I'm having this issue. Without reading the whole thread, is this the issue people are experiencing?

At first I thought it was Chrome Canary causing this problem as if I closed it sometimes the display would snap back but today it happened with out Chrome Canary being open.

I tried reinstalling, having the same problem. Didn't solve it.

I've got week 30, 2.3/16/256. I've got it yesterday and it updated itself at the beginning two times. I installed Xcode, Microsoft Office, Aperture, iWork, and final cut. So far so good. Nothing happened when I come from sleep. No KP and no glitches.

Is there any solid way to produce that issue let me know. I will test it for you.

Yeah, that's the glitch I'm getting occasionally waking from sleep. Looks like we just have to sit tight and hope it gets fixed in a software update. It's not a crushing error, more annoying than anything else.

Like others have said you can just switch the display mode back to Best (Retina) then back up to whatever you had it at and that will fix it.

Maziyar, here is how I can get to to happen almost every time:

Set energy saver preferences to put display to sleep in 1 minute and for both power and battery.

Open many of your usual apps, one or more of which you suspect of cause the problem.

Put the MBP in screen saver mode and wait the 1 minute, till the display turns black.

Wake it up.

That's weird. I did the same thing and left open some apps like two xcode projects and Word and aperture. That didn't happen. Maybe it's because I use Best Retina mode? The others either are too small or too big.

I'm sure it will be fixed in next few days with ML.

Has anyone that posted to this thread noticed if mountain lion fixes the problem?
