Need more details

"Enable the root user" has a link to explain what it means, but "Log in as root" and "Navigate to the /Users folder" give no explanation how to do them. How can I do these to change my home folder name?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Enabling the root user account is usually not needed nor recommended. I've been using OS X since it shipped in 2001 and have never needed to do that. Maybe you can explain why you're interested in doing that.
