Download Aperture 3 or move license to App Store

Hi,

I had some hard drive and memory problems in the last year and I've just rebuilt my iMac. I have an Aperture 3 (as well as a 2.1) license but I can't find the software to download since it's moved to the App Store and of course there is no way, apparently, to migrate my existing license to the App Store and grab it again from there -- a serious oversight on Apple's part as far as I'm concerned. I know I had the installer at one point, obviously, but I can't find where I have it archived or if I may have just deleted it accidentally at some point.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ric

There is a link to the Aperture trial in this support article:

Aperture 3.4: May quit unexpectedly on launch after updating

Follow the instructions in the paragraph: If you orginially installed Aperture 3 from a trial version:

If you orginially installed Aperture 3 from a trial version:

  1. Go to the Applications folder and delete Aperture.
  2. Download the Aperture 3.1 Trial.
  3. Open the Aperture Trial disc image.
  4. Double-click the "Aperture Trial.mpkg" file.
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions to install Aperture.
  6. After the installation completes, choose Software Update from the Apple () menu.
  7. Install the Aperture 3.4 update from the list of available updates.

Note: If you are using OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 or later, you may receive an alert stating that Aperture is from an unidentified developer. This can occur when you try to install Aperture from DVD or the trial download. See OS X Mountain Lion: The app is from an unidentified developer for details on how to successfully install Aperture in this situation.

You are welcome, WorkerBee 🙂

Why is Apple so determined to hide the actual program (I don't mean the updates)?

Probably, because it is the Trial version, and there is no longer any way to sign up for a Trial registration key. So this download is currently useless and would be misleading for anyone, who wants to try out Aperture before buying it.
