MIDI not working - Claims timeout

Hi there,

I have an akai apc40 and maudio oxygen25. I am getting errors when both devices are connected with logic 9.1.7 (1700.57) 32-bit. The error logic error is is "MIDI timeout: Logic Pro has detected a MIDI timeout. Please restart your computer, then relaunch Logic Pro. If the problem persists, update the drivers of all connected MIDI devices (including audio drivers with MIDI functionality) to the latest version. For instructions on removing older drivers, consult the manufacturers' documentation." "Error initializing CoreMIDI. Faulty MDID driver? Please restart computer"

I restarted my computer and the same error message occurs in logic.

I also have an error when running audio midi setup in the midi view. The error is "Audio MIDI Setup couldn't open the MIDI Serv so you can't view or edit your MIDI configurations. If you recently installed a new MIDI driver, try uninstalling it and then open Audio MIDI Setup again. If Audio MIDI Setup works correctly after that, contact the driver's manufacturer for further support."

I dont really know what to uninstall. I dont recall installing a MIDI driver for the akai acp40 or the maudio oxygen25. There are no drivers on the maudio site or Akai website for the gear I have. Completely detaching the akai acp40 and the maudio oxygen25 for my mac and rebooting has no affect. maudio claims the following when attempting to download the oxygen25 driver --- "This device is class compliant and does not require driver support for OS X."

I am running osx 10.6.8 and logic pro 9.1.7 on a MBP. I ran disk utility and corrected disk permissions three times and that did not seem to help. At one point the akai apc40 and maudio oxygen worked fine.

Any clues on how to cure this problem?

Cheers

I have tried every blog and every link and every "solution" to this problem but nothing is working. I have to force quit Logic everytime now. I have not installed Pro Tools. There is nothing in my Library>Audio>Midi Drivers folder. I am running Mac OS X 10.7.5 Lion and Logic Pro 9.1.8.

I was on Mac OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard when the Midi Timeout started to occur. That's when I switched to to Lion hoping to fix the problem. No luck.

Help please?
