On the screen when I type the keyboard is split right down the middle not touching whatsoever. It still types but letters are small and close together. Does anyone know how to bring it back together???

Using a finger on each half you should be able to drag it back together (similarly you can then use two fingers to re-split the keyboard). If you don't want the option of a split keyboard then you can turn it off via Settings > General > Keyboard > Split Keyboard 'off'
