The link to the Setup Manual for the new AirPort Express is not working correctly. The forum moderators have been notifed.
You could use an AirPort Extreme manual in a pinch, and the older Express manual for AirPlay info.
WDS is supported on the new AirPort Express.

I had also sent a Website feedback for the manual link.
I assume I can do a WDS with older 802.11 b/g units on the 2.4Ghz side and a 5 Ghz roaming network on the 802.11n side.
If you are thinking of using the AirPort Express to extend, you would not be able to setup WDS and roaming simultaneously, since devices connect using wireless only for WDS and Ethernet for a roaming network.
If you have the ability to connect the new AirPort Express back to the main router using Ethernet, that would be by far the best way to configure the device.
