iPod/iHome incompatibilities

I have had a problem with my iPod Touch working with my iHome products (one alarm clock radio & one speaker). When set on the iHome products, my iPod does not charge or play. Other iPod touches and my iHome all work on them both except mine. My iPod works fine still: plays fine, charges fine with car and computer charges, plays with AUX cord, and actually works on my old iHome from forever ago. I thought maybe the output was messed up with my iPod because the input was working fine, but then it worked fine in a plug-in cord in my boyfriend's truck (which would be considered an output). Has this happened to anyone? Or anyone know of what I can do?
