How do I update my software?
When I look under general, it doesn't say software. Want to know how to update my phone.

Open itunes, connect iphone.
It will prompt you to update

To update odor phone wireless. You need to have more than 50% battery and then go to
Settings>General>Software Update
This will search for updates and all you need to do is tap 'Update'. This will take its time. You need the most recent iOS for this.
Also you can plug your phone into yor PC/Mac and bring up iTunes. Click on your iPhone in iTunes and go to summary. If an update is available, you just need to click update. You can have as much battery life as you like for this option. Hope this helped you
Be sure to make a backup before you update!
I know that I can do it through iTunes, but my computer is down. Didn't know if there is another way. Just bought an iPad and wasn't going to mess with my computer again.
The only way you can update your device without going directly into iTunes is to have iOS 5 or later. If you had that, the "software update" option in settings would be there, so it seems like your device is not at iOS 5. The only other way to do it is through iTunes

Once on Software Update, if there is an update. Your phone will come up with a button UPDATE. All you need to do it tap that and your phone will begin updating
Obviously mine isn't because I don't have the software update option.
