Q: how do I update my ipod touch with windows 7

I have a used ipod touch, 4th gen, I think and I'm trying to download some apps and get the message "this app requires iOS 4.3."  Is it possible to update my opperating system?

iPod touch, just had digitizer replaced

iPod touch 3rd and 4th gen support iOS 5.1.1.  If it's a 2nd gen, the highest iOS version would be 4.2.1, which seems to be what you are getting.
