I tried to conform some 60p footage to 30p to acheive a slow motion effect using Cinema Tools 4.5. Cinema Tools skipped all the clips and the log said that it was due to the clip having "temporal compression." Is there anyway to get around this roadblock? (I am editing with FCP 7.0 with snow leopard)

60p from what camera? CT will not convert if the footage is HDV or XDCAM. Need to convert the footage to ProRes first, then conform.

Footage was shot on a JVC GY-HM150. Just so I'm clear: How do I convert to ProRes- and which of the many ProRes variations do I use?
You have to capture as HDV. Then either Media Manage and RECOMPRESS, or use COMPRESSOR to convert to ProRes 422.
