Transferring contacts from old SIM?
what if your old SIM wasn't from an iPhone and doesn't fit? how do you import contacts?

Cut it down so it fits (there are instructions all over the Internet, so Google will help). Or get a SIM adapter for your computer and transfer the contacts to a contact app on the computer, then to the phone.
