I am selling my macbook , I want to erase all of my info but I do not have a operating disk to restore , so can i erase info but still leave the operating system

I belive all you need to do is delete the Home file but I'd maybe wait for more replies...

Depending on how much time you have to wipe it, I'd definitely go with the 35-pass.

What version of the OS is on your Macbook? If you purchased Lion for it at the app store, you will need to erase it - the license is not transferable. If it is Snow Leopard or earlier, you can get replacement install disks by calling Apple and giving them your serial number. They will send replacements for a nominal fee.

Personally, I would never buy any computer without install disks (unless it is a new Mac which came with Lion preinstalled).
