Deleted them on my PC (not a Mac), re-synced to iPad, photos still there. No option anywhere on photo stream to delete them. Many others having this problem also, I see. Photos were not taken with my iPad; they were older photos stored on my pc that I transferred; now I can't get them off my brand new iPad and I want to free up space. Had I known this I would never have transferred them...I am brand new to iPad and don't know all that much yet.

To delete photos from photo stream on your iPad, go to the photo sheet view (page of thumbnails), tap on the small rectangle with the arrow in it, in the top right corner of the page, then tap on each photo you wish to delete. Once you have chosen all the photos you want to delete, tap the delete button in the bottom right corner.

To reset photo stream you need to log into icloud.com using a computer.  Then click on your user name (upper right) on the main icloud screen.  From there look around the menu to find a command to reset photo stream.

That doesn't delete photos already in a photostream album on a device.

I had this same problem and none of the above solutions worked. The problem is itunes remembers the photos in the original synced folder from your PC even if you've deleted them, so when you delete the photos in your PC folder and then resync, the photos still exist on the ipad even though they are no longer in the PC folder you're syncing.

Solution: create a new folder on your PC with nothing in it and sync only that folder, it will remove all the unwanted photos on your ipad. Then resync to the old folder that has just the pics you want.

Herbaltickiing, please help me to understand...I am having the same issue in trying to delete photos off my original ipad.  I just bought a new generation ipad and have already synced my pics from my mac desktop.

when you say creat a new folder in the PC, are you referring to a computer that is not an apple product?  Can I made a new folder on my iMac desktop to do this?

thanks for any help.  I want to give my orignal ipad to a friend who has dealt with two types of cancer and had a brain tumor removed

Hobnob7, For me it was on pc. I open iTunes went to my iPad and went to photos tab. There you can choose what folder to sync your iPad to. In my case I already had an empty folder in the same dir as the photo stream  folder, select a different folder sync you iPad and viola. This will remove all pics from photo stream.

I'm being really obtuse.  "Went to Ipad and went to photos tab....to choose folder to sync...."   Where is the photos tab where I can chose a folder to sync to?

Thank you all!  Am leaving for a trip tomorrrow and needed to clear space.  Apple Store was of no help... Now if I can just get a pesky USB "camera" connection to work...
