DEAD... iPod nano (6th gen) after Software update version 1.1 and failed


and, of course, my warranty period expired on June 12th, 2012.


nano is completely unresponsive...


I've tried:

cherging the unit,

powering on,

powering on while also holding down volume button.


Nano is NOT recognized in iTunes (10.6.3.25) when connected to computer.


any suggestions?

OK... almost progress!


stuck in a loop...


"iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode.

You must restore this product before it can be used with iTunes."


and... the regular restore sequence.


in which time the Nano screen states, "Do Not Disconnect"

and then goes blank.


then...


"iTunes needs to prepare your iPod for recovery.

please leave your iPod connected."


and then back to the start of the loop...

Which was a few weeks ago. Call Apple Customer Relations (800) 767-2775, be nice & polite. A little honey will go a long way with them.
