Where has sleep iPod gone from the timer menu?
iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1
On my version:
-Click on the clock
-Swipe to the timer
-Click on the information button ( "i" in a circle)
-"When timer ends"
choose "Sleep Ipod"
-Set
Then set the timer for how long you want to listen for.
If you are referring to the iPod Classic, Settings ->
Extras->Alarms->Sleep Timer.
Have a nice day!🙂
No. I am having the same problem. I have an iPod touch 4g and while I used to have a "sleep iPod" option under the timer utility this has now recently been replaced by a "stop playing music" option instead. It appears the "sleep iPod" option disappeared after the last os update. It's quite annoying if not mildly upsetting as I used the sleep option regularly. Any help or suggestions or clarity would be appreciated. Thanks!
This is the iPod Classic forum,. so please pardon me if my info is not accurate.
The updated iPod Touch firmware, still has the sleep timer, but has change the text from "Sleep iPod" to "Stop Playing"
Good luck!
Hey, thank you very much for the clarification.
I just performed a quick test. If the iPod doesn't have any programs running it will indeed go to sleep after the "stop playing" timer ends. But if I'm playing music the "stop playing" timer will only stop playing the music when the timer ends, but will not actually put the iPod to sleep. Same goes for watching videos, the timer only stops playing the video but does not put the iPod to sleep.
The "sleep iPod" option, on the other hand, actually put the iPod to sleep when the timer ended.
The "stop playing" option only stops an app from playing media but does not put the iPod to sleep.
Why did Apple change the option from "sleep iPod" to "stop playing"?
How do I put my iPod to sleep now?
Thanks!
Oh I just noticed this is in the "iPod Classic" category rather than "iPod Touch". Sorry about that, I surfed in from Google and this is where I landed. Please feel free to repost/move my posts to the appropriate forum!
Thank you.
I guess some Genius, in the Touch project, never go to sleep, so dont need the sleep functionality.😀.
Can you put in afeedback on the ipod Touch, and they might do something about it.
Sorry, I'm just an iPod Classic end-user like yourself, I got no connection or relationship with Apple.
Have a nice day!
