I'm on Barnes & Noble trying to download a .epub book. The .epub goes to my Download file and when I click it Application Loader pops up asking for my Apple ID and password. It says it cannot find a registered user with my user name.
I don't know why it even pops up. It says its purpose is to help me prepare my apps for sale on the App Store. I just want to open the .epub.
Please help me.

I was able to solve this problem myself by using google. It came up with AskDifferent where the question is answered.
So I used finder and selected the .epub file and from the File menu clicked Open With and selected Open with Nook for Mac.app.

It would be a better idea to set the default app for opening .epub files. When a .epub file is selected in finder then click Get Info in the File Menu. When Info opens click Open With and then select Nook for Mac.app. That sets the default for epubs to Nook for Mac.app.
